Structure and site
Part A addresses structure. Part C covers site preparation and resistance to moisture; Part D addresses materials and workmanship. Record which drawings, calculations, specifications and product information address these topics.
Fire and movement
Part B covers fire safety. Part K addresses stairways, ladders, ramps and guards. Keep the design-team explanation with the relevant drawing revision instead of reducing these topics to a supplier brochure statement.
Indoor environment
Part E addresses sound, Part F ventilation and Part G hygiene. Ask how the specified systems work together, who is responsible for commissioning where applicable, and which records will be handed over.
Water and heat
Part H covers drainage and waste-water disposal. Part J addresses heat-producing appliances. File service layouts, appliance information and later changes with the project’s controlled design set.
Energy
Part L addresses conservation of fuel and energy. Keep the applicable edition and project assessment records with the design file. A marketing energy label or general product claim is not a project compliance record.
Access and use
Part M addresses access and use. Ask the project designer how the applicable requirements are reflected in drawings and specifications, and keep the issued answer with the project file.
Turn the map into a document index
For each topic judged relevant by the project team, record the responsible person, current document reference, revision date and any inspection or completion record expected. Leave an item open when evidence is missing; this private index helps organise the file but does not itself demonstrate compliance.
