Privacy notice

What we collect, why we use it, and the choices you have.

Effective and last reviewed: 14 August 2026

Useful result first: calculators and the Garden Home Checker provide a result before contact details are requested. If you choose to save a report or request a fit call, we use the submitted details only to respond about that project. We do not add you to a newsletter or use them for unrelated marketing.

Who is responsible

ourhouse.ie is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. Privacy enquiries and rights requests can be sent to hello@ourhouse.ie.

Garden Home Checker information

When you choose to reveal a detailed checker result, we collect:

Consultation and tool-report information

If you request a free fit call, feasibility review or saved tool report, we may collect your name, email, phone, county, project type, relationship to the site, intended use, proposed area, existing structures, preferred model, planning status, budget, timeline and import interest. Public forms do not accept documents; please do not send title, identity, financial, health or other sensitive records through them.

Please do not enter another person's information or sensitive personal information. The checker uses fixed choices and measurements; it does not ask for an Eircode, full address, health information or free-text personal circumstances.

Why we use it

We use the checker submission because you asked us to provide the gated result and agreed that we may respond about that specific project. We use it to:

We do not treat the checker result as a legal planning decision, use it for automated decisions with legal effects, sell the submission, or use it for newsletter marketing.

CRM and form delivery

Submissions are routed into the OurHouse enquiry workflow and FormSubmit remains an email-delivery fallback to partnerships@ourhouse.ie. This means the submitted details may pass through FormSubmit's systems. Review FormSubmit's privacy information.

Retention

Project enquiries and checker submissions are retained for up to 12 months after the last interaction, then deleted unless a contract, legal obligation, security incident or dispute requires a narrower record for longer. Contract and invoice records follow their applicable statutory retention periods. Browser questionnaire state is held in session storage, not as a long-term record.

Analytics

We use a self-hosted Matomo analytics service to understand aggregate site and checker usage. Checker analytics include events such as opening the tool, completing a stage, submission success or failure, result category and model-link clicks. We do not send your email, raw measurements, full answer set or free text to Matomo.

Sharing and international processing

We share information only with service providers needed to operate the site, form delivery and email, or where required by law. Those providers may process data outside Ireland. We do not publish checker submissions or disclose them to listed modular-home providers unless you separately ask us to make an introduction.

Your choices and rights

You may ask us to provide a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or withdraw the project-follow-up consent. Withdrawing consent does not make earlier lawful use invalid. Contact hello@ourhouse.ie and identify the email used in the checker.

If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may contact Ireland's Data Protection Commission.

Other enquiries

If you email us directly or use a provider quote form, we receive the contact details and project information you choose to send. We use those details to answer the enquiry and manage the requested introduction or quote conversation.

Changes to this notice

We will update the effective date above when this notice changes materially. Current rules and service providers should be rechecked as the site evolves.
